Clip Art
Clip Art is preset graphics available for use in Microsoft word. It can be inserted into a document and modified, to give documents more color and can be found in specific categories or fields. New Clip Art images can be downloaded to add to the Clip Art file folder.
Crop
In word processing programs, Cropping is a function in which users are able to remove unwanted parts of graphics.
Desktop Publishing
Desktop Publishing is the function in which publication documents are created by users and their computers
Drawing Canvas
A Drawing Canvas is a feature provided by Microsoft Word that allows users to edit images and graphics in a new window with more tools and options for editing. Blur effects and more can be added to these images. This feature can be disabled or enabled.
Drawing Objects
Drawing Objects in Word Processing is basically adding a picture to a document, and customizing as though it is being drawn again. Unwanted portions of a graphic/object can be removed, brightness and transparency can be adjusted, sizes and rotations can be made, and objects can be overlapped.
Endnote
An Endnote is just like a footnote but instead it is an annotation placed at the end of documents. Endnotes also serve as conversions from footnotes, and a conversion from a footnote to an endnote can be established by using Microsoft Word. Endnotes are automatically remembered when text is either added or deleted.
Footer
Footers lines of text that appear at the bottom of text documents. Symbols can be used as footers to represent values such as page numbers.
Footnote
Footnotes are inserted at the bottom of word documents as references for the document. They can specify resources used in creating a document such as borrowed material or explanatory information about a text.
Graphics
Graphics are computer images that can be added to a word processors. They can be modified, resized, cropped, rotated, and Microsoft Word offers many tools and options for manipulating graphics.
Hard Column Break
A Hard Column Break is a big spacing in text documents, which divides text into two separate columns.
Header
In Word Processing, Headers are defined as either one or two lines of words that appear on top of a document. You can specify a header style, and the text that you want to be displayed in the header, and then it is automatically inserted by the processing program, in most cases, Microsoft Word.
Sizing Handles
Sizing handles are graphic indicators in graphic user interfaces that allow users to re size, and modify the size of a window. They are usually found at lower right corner of a window.

Style
Style is the term used for applied formatting for text in word processing programs such as Micorosoft Word. In Microsoft Word 2007, the style option can be applied by accessing the Style Menu in the program window, and applying many of the created style formats.

Superscript
Superscript is a Word Processing feature in which text characters and symbols seem to appear slighlty above a line. And opposite of Superscript is Subscript in which characters appear slightly below a line.
Thesaurus
In Word Processing Programs such as Microsoft Word, there is a built-in Thesaurus that is there for the purpose of allowing users to synonyms without leaving the program.
Thumbnails
In Programs like Microsoft PowerPoint and other programs and displays of a computer, we find thumnails. Generally, Thumbnails are very small images of documents or files which are reduced as a display. When you look at a Thumbnail, you do not see a minature version of the entire document or file, instead you see the most noticable aspects of it.

Cells
Cells can be created in Word Processing Documents, and are always found in Spreadsheet Documents. They are boxes for the specific purposes of entering text and data, and are arranged either vertically, or horizontally to create Tables, Columns, and Rows.
Column
In Word Processing Documents and Spreadsheets, a Column is a vertical arrangement of cells for text writing purposes. In Spreadsheet Documents, Columns are identified with numbers.
Row
In Word Processors and Spreadsheets, a Row is an arrangement of a horizontal grouping of cells. It is also an area reserved for text purposes.
Table
In a Word Processing Program or Spreadsheet Generators/Makers, a Table is an arrangment of cells, rows, and columns, and Tables are used to represent various amounts of data such as topics and numbers.

Insert Tab Options
When opening a text processing Program such as Microsoft Word and clicking on the insert tab in the menu, the following options are available.
Pages- This optiion includes commands such as;Cover Page,Blank Page,Page Break, and these commands allow users to insert a new page to be used as a cover, a blank page, and to create a break between pages in a document.
Tables- This option includes only the Table Command Which allows users to create Tables with as many rows and columns as desired.
Illustrations-Another option that allows users to insert illustrations such as Pictures, Clip Art files, Various Shapes, Smart Art, and Different Charts.
Links- This option allows users to insert Hyperlinks into files, Bookmark files, and Croos-reference information which is used to match source information for files.

Alignment
In word processors such as Microsoft Word and other text processors and editors, there are text features known as alignments. The alignments are used to determine the adjusting of text in a document such as its relative margin. Alignments include Flush Left Alignment (means that selected text is lined up to a left margin) Flush Right Alignment (means that selected text is aligned to a right margin), Centered Alignment (means selected text is aligned to a midpoint) and Justified Alignment (which means that selected text is lined up to both the left and right margins.
Attributes
In Text Processing,an attribute is a characteristing given to a word or sentence when it is underlined, its font is changed, or another quality of it is changed, and the applied characteristic becomes its attribute. Different types of attributes include underlined attributes, numerical attributes, italicized attributes, and others.
Clipboard
In text documents and processors, a Clipboard is like a storage bin where words that have been copied or are being set for cutting and pasting, are stored. When part of a text is cut, Word Processors automatically save the cut text into the clipboard, and then to its final destination.
Drag-and-Drop
Drag-and-Drop is a function in Computers with GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces) that can be accessed from either a Word Processing Program, Desktop, etc, and its purpose is to allow users to grab an icon, file, or word, and drag it to another location on a page.
Font
In text documents, Fonts are different sets of alphabetical characters and numerals specifically designed to text typeface qualities such as style, shape, and spacing. Different types of lettering fonts for programs such as Microsoft Word include Times New Roman, Arial, Courier, Helvetica, and etc.
Format
A Format is the specific property/visable property of an object. In text documents Formatting is used to determine text size and appearance, and its display. It is the way text looks by its designated specifications.
Hanging Indent
Hanging Indent is a term used in word processing programs/software, when the first line of every paragraph is specified to have an indent to the left of a document, and all other lines have an indent to the right of the document.

Hard Page Break
A Hard Page Break is a page break that automatically makes printers advance to the next page when printing after a page is already full of text in a text document.
Landscape Orientation
Landscape Orientation is a page orientation provided by programs such as Microsoft Word as an alternative to the default page orientation (Portrait Orientation) and is much wider than it is tall. However, not many printers can support text in a Landscape Orientation.
Overtype Mode
Overtype Mode is a text document writing mode in which new characters are inserted, and replace existing characters of a document.
Points
Points are used in text documents to measure the height of document characters. Points measure 1/72 of an inch.
Portrait Orientation
Portrait Orientation is the default page layout that users see when they open text documents in programs such as Microsoft Word. A Portrait Page Orientation is typically used for letter, memo, and different text documents and is taller than it is wide.
Soft Page Break
A soft page break is a normal page document which has yet to be filled, and then is converted to a hard page break.
